Aon has chosen Edmund Reese (pictured) to replace Christa Davies as chief financial officer.

Reese’s appointment as executive vice president and CFO is effective July 29. However, he will come on board in early July before taking over the finance function and capital allocation strategy at Aon. Davies, meanwhile, will oversee the certification of second quarter results before moving into a senior advisory role until her planned retirement.

Greg Case, CEO of Aon, revealed the successor: “Edmund is an accomplished executive with extensive finance, M&A (mergers and acquisitions) and investor experience, as well as a proven track record of delivering strong results.

“As our next CFO, Edmund will further strengthen our focus on revenue and earnings growth, disciplined capital allocation and portfolio management to deliver positive outcomes for our customers, colleagues and shareholders. We look forward to welcoming Edmund to Aon at such an exciting time for our company.”

Reese brings to Aon more than two and a half decades of leadership experience from large publicly traded companies in financial services, payments and technology. He has been Chief Financial Officer of Broadridge Financial Solutions since 2020.

Prior to joining Broadridge, Reese worked at American Express, where he most recently served as senior vice president and CFO of its largest business unit. Prior to American Express, Reese was chief financial officer of the U.S. advisory group at Merrill Lynch and CFO of corporate banking and equity plan services at Citigroup Smith Barney.

Lester Knight, Chairman of Aon, commented: “Following the successful completion of our succession planning process, including an extensive internal and external search, we are pleased that Edmund is joining Aon. He will bring extensive financial experience spanning corporate strategy, M&A and investor relations to further build on our long-term track record of strong financial performance.”
