Artex Risk Solutions, Gallagher’s wholly-owned alternative risk and captives subsidiary, has announced a leadership transition plan with significant changes for next year.
It was announced that Artex chief executive and co-founder Peter Mullen (pictured left) will take on the role of chairman from January 1, 2025, while Gallagher Executive Vice President Zeb Holt (pictured right) is expected to be named CEO-designate on July 1 .
Holt will officially replace Mullen as CEO in early 2025. The insurance industry’s next CEO’s journey began two decades ago when he started as an intern at Gallagher.
Throughout his career, Holt has held various leadership positions in brokerage and sales at Gallagher and Artex. Prior to his current position as Regional EVP – Florida, which he assumed in 2018, Holt served as Gallagher’s Area President for South Florida.
The appointments follow Gallagher’s acquisition of Pittsburgh retail insurance agency Crawford Insurance. Through the acquisition, James Crawford and his team will continue to operate from their current location in Pennsylvania. They will be under the leadership of Sean Gallagher, who leads the retail real estate and casualty brokerage division across the Great Lakes region group.
