Rapidly expanding insurance services company Patriot Growth Insurance Services has strengthened its presence in New York through a partnership with full-service insurance agency SDL+GHS, operating out of New York City and Hudson.

SDL+GHS was formed in 2018 from the merger of SDL Brokerage and Group Health Solutions. SDL Brokerage began specializing in commercial insurance in the 1960s, while its employee benefits offshoot, Group Health Solutions, was launched in 1996. The two joined forces six years ago to form a comprehensive company.

Rob Bujan, one of the three principals at SDL+GHS, noted: “As we continue on this path of growth and partnerships, what better way than to join forces with Patriot. Our culture, values and commitment to continued growth align perfectly with Patriot and the larger vision of its leadership.”

The combined companies now offer services ranging from property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, wellness programs, commercial and personal insurance contracts, self-financing and benefits administration, all supported by advanced technologies.

“We are thrilled to welcome the SDL+GHS team to the Patriot family,” commented Steve Carroll, Patriot Chief Acquisition Officer (pictured). “Their culture truly embodies everything Patriot stands for in terms of growth mindset, community engagement and high ethical values.

“SDL+GHS’s unique culture has led them to achieve impressive organic growth, and I know that growth will only accelerate with Patriot’s extensive resources and support.”

Founded in 2019 with support from GI Partners and Summit Partners, Patriot is known for its collaborative model. The company works with social security and property and casualty insurance agencies nationwide and employs more than 1,850 people at 194 locations in 27 states.

Patriot says its structure provides resources and strategic support to its agencies while allowing executives to continue to operate with a high degree of independence in their local markets.
