The Trump campaign announced Friday that it nearly doubled its one-day fundraising after a New York jury found Donald Trump guilty in his hush money trial.
The campaign said it raised $34.8 million from small donors following Thursday afternoon’s historic verdict in which Trump was convicted of 34 counts of falsifying business records.
Nearly 30% of those donors were brand new to the Trump fundraising site WinRed, senior campaign advisers Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a news release.
Top aides reiterated Trump’s promise after the trial that the “real verdict” would come on Election Day, Nov. 5.
