A new super PAC backing former President Donald J. Trump has $27 million in cash, two days after the group held its first event with Mr. Trump ahead of the November election, according to an official with the group.
The super PAC Right for America raised $13.05 million in the first fundraising quarter of the year, the official said. An additional $12 million was raised in connection with the event, and another $2 million was raised this month.
“We are thrilled with the support we have received in the few weeks we have been involved,” said Lee Rizzuto, treasurer of Right for America. “We look forward to doing our part to return Donald Trump to the White House.”
The group’s largest donor is Isaac Perlmutter, the former Marvel Entertainment executive who has been involved since the group’s inception weeks ago. Mr. Perlmutter and his wife, Laura, donated $10 million, a person familiar with the sum said.
Right for America held its first event Tuesday evening with a dinner for about 25 people at Mar-a-Lago, Mr. Trump’s private club and residence in Palm Beach, Florida. The group is planning another fundraising dinner soon, but is not expected to begin spending until closer to the November general election.
Dinner attendees included Kimberly Guilfoyle, Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, who helped bring some of the people to the gathering, according to a person familiar with the event.
The group is led by Sergio Gor, a longtime Trump aide who published Mr. Trump’s two White House Post books. It is the second super PAC to support Mr. Trump, following Make America Great Again Inc., which is the main outside group supporting the former president since he declared his third bid for president in November 2022.
Mr. Perlmutter, an old friend of Mr. Trump and a member of Mar-a-Lago, was interested in supporting the presumptive Republican presidential nominee through another outlet.
