USQRisk, an international managing general agent (MGA) specializing in alternative risk transfer, has announced the appointment of Ashleigh Sears as its new head of casualty insurance.

Sears joins USQRisk as the company continues to expand its U.S. operations. Her new role will primarily focus on expanding distribution networks, particularly through retail and wholesale brokerage channels. It will also help scale the company’s existing structured liability portfolio.

“We have experienced incredible growth in the last few years, and that is largely due to the great expertise of our team,” said Moreno. “The addition of Ashleigh will only further enhance our capabilities as we strive to provide solutions to some of the most difficult underwriting challenges in the market.”

Prior to joining USQRisk, Sears spent time at Hartford Insurance Company as Northeast Division Manager of Hartford Excess Solutions. Her background also includes more than seven years at Navigators Management Company, where she held the positions of Vice President, Northeast and Assistant Vice President and Regional Manager, New England.

Commenting on her new role, Sears said she is excited to partner with an MGA that will allow her to continue offering unique solutions to her customers.

“I am excited to join this dynamic team and have the opportunity to bring our tailored solutions to a larger portion of the market as risks become more complex and clients seek new alternatives for their risk placement needs,” she said.”

Sears has a bachelor’s degree in finance from Pennsylvania State University. She previously served on the Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) and the Hartford Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Board.
