Experts call on industry to “expand, develop and diversify”

The recent Marsh McLennan Rising Professionals’ Global Forum highlighted the critical role that next generation investments will play in the reinsurance industry.
The forum called on reinsurance players and stakeholders to “focus on expanding, developing and diversifying their talent base” as the company continues to increase its relevance to clients in an increasingly volatile risk environment.
“Today’s global environment is becoming increasingly complex,” said John Doyle, president and CEO of Marsh McLennan (pictured left). “From geopolitical and economic situations to climate, technology and social risks, our customers want to be increasingly agile and resilient to future shocks. Insurance and reinsurance are important means of advancing our economy and society. As an industry, we have a clear responsibility to develop our future leaders to meet these challenges, and that is exactly what the Rising Professionals’ Global Forum is all about.”
Meanwhile, Global Capital Solutions International Chairwoman Vicky Carter (pictured right) Guy Carpenter focused on geopolitical unrest, climate change, cyber threats and economic fragility as reasons for uncertainty and volatility – something the market should be prepared for must for.
“Our industry plays a critical role in building resilience in this new era of risk,” she said. “To meet this challenge, our industry needs a workforce with the talent and skills required to meet these unique requirements. We must inspire the next generation to challenge the status quo and adopt disruptive approaches to risk transfer so that the re/insurance industry continues to transform uncertainty into opportunity.”
The two-day forum brought together over 800 leading next-generation talent in the industry. The event concluded with a gala evening intended to honor the extraordinary talents of the re/insurance industry.
