Audi on Monday unveiled its new all-electric Q6 e-tron SUV, the first production vehicle in its next-generation electric vehicle architecture.

The Volkswagen-owned luxury automaker says Audi’s new “Premium Platform Electric” opens up new levels of technology, including a fast electric vehicle charging time of 158 miles in 10 minutes.

The vehicle heralds the next generation of electric vehicles for Audi, which continues to offer more all-electric and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles despite EV growth slowing recently.

Audi confirmed that it plans to introduce around 20 new or significantly revised models and derivatives worldwide by 2025, more than half of which will be electric.

Orders for the Q6 e-tron quattro and an “S” performance variant will begin in Europe this month and start at 74,400 euros or around $81,000 and 93,800 euros or $102,030. The Q6 e-tron has an estimated range on a single charge of 625 kilometers or 388 miles, based on European testing standards.

Top US performance specs include up to 510 horsepower, a top speed of 143 mph, and 0-60 mph acceleration in 4.2 seconds.

According to Audi, the US model should be able to travel more than 300 miles on a single charge.

Exact pricing, range and model details for the U.S. are expected closer to when the midsize SUV launches domestically later this year, according to an Audi spokesperson.

Audi currently offers the Q4 and Q8 all-electric SUVs and a $106,500 GT sedan in the US market.

The Q6 e-tron features a new but familiar Audi design with slim headlights, a mesh grille and an overall aggressive exterior design.

The new EV platform includes an 800-volt battery architecture and a maximum charging capacity of 270 kilowatt hours.
