AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has announced that Pauline Morley (pictured) has been appointed as its new Head of Errors and Omissions (E&O) in the US, effective immediately.

In her new role, Morley will be responsible for leading the growth and improvement of AXIS’ professional liability offerings in the market. Her responsibilities include deepening broker relationships, exploring new growth sectors and strengthening the company’s existing underwriting capabilities.

Morley brings over 35 years of professional liability insurance and leadership experience to her new role. She previously held senior positions at well-known insurance companies such as Western World Insurance Group, Travelers, HCC and USI.

Prior to joining AXIS, she was senior vice president of other professional liability and architectural and engineering liability at Argo Pro.

Morley will report directly to John Van Decker, head of global finance lines at AXIS.

“Pauline brings extensive E&O expertise and proven leadership skills that are critical to expanding our position in the professional liability market. “She will help shape the direction of our portfolio by deepening our existing broker relationships, opening up additional sectors for profitable growth and strengthening our existing underwriting strength,” said Van Decker.

“Pauline joins AXIS at an important time in our journey as we continue to explore new opportunities and enhance our specialty insurance solutions in the E&O market.”

The global specialty firm announced the resignation of Alistair Robson, head of underwriting at AXIS Global Markets and chief underwriting officer at AXIS Managing Agency. In its place:

  • Rory MacGregor, previously head of non-marine, has been promoted to head of underwriting, global markets
  • Steve Cross, previously Head of Construction, will take over as Head of Global Markets in the non-marine sector
  • Anna Woolley, who served as senior construction underwriter, is promoted to head of construction for global markets
